Information Roberto Burle Marx (1909 - 1994) who was trained as a painter "has been called the world's greatest landscape designer of the 20th century." Burle Marx' paintings are about intelligence and passion, mankind and its need to survive with the natural world. The sensuous forms relate to one another like notes in a musical scale. One is reminded of ancient primitive icons that call upon the forces of nature for fertility. |
